The Author
J. Charles currently lives with his wife and their family of pets at their home in Steelton, Pennsylvania. A long time lover of all things Science Fiction and Fantasy, J. finally decided to write down the stories he would craft in his head during long, empty graveyard shifts. His debut novel, The Trials of Magnus, was his first foray into crafting an entire world, complete with its own pantheon of Gods. Now expanding into a trilogy, J. has found a new fervor for the world-building process. Along with his feature-length novels, J. is a prolific flash fiction writer, publishing two dozen of these to date with the publishing group SFS (Sci-Fi Shorts). Many of his flash fiction stories are firmly Science Fiction in nature, centering around profound questions of philosophy with the intent of creating a thoughtful experience within 1000 words.
When he is not working on his writing, J. Charles loves to paint with oils. Many of these works can be found on his Facebook and Instagram pages and stick mostly to impressionist landscapes and flower portraits. J. finds immense pleasure in this radically different style of creative self-exploration, and takes much inspiration from plants that he and his wife grow in their home and garden.
